Religious Education Coordinator

The purpose of the Religious Education (RE) Coordinator is to help provide consistency for the students and families in the program, as well as support the adult volunteers. This position is for five hours per Sunday, three Sundays per month, and two additional hours weekly for preparation time (or four Sundays/mo in months that have five Sundays) .  Pay is $15 per hour.

Duties of the RE Coordinator to include:

  • Sunday Morning Coordination and Troubleshooting
    Open Classrooms, set thermostats
    Assist volunteers in getting settled in class, their youth signed in, find subs if needed
    Check for supplies
    Available to guide newcomers/visitors to classes, answer questions
    Check classrooms, including nursery throughout RE Hour

  • Supply Coordination
    Check with teams for supplies needed for following week
    Check supplies closet for requested supplies
    Coordinate with volunteers & church administrator for acquisition as needed

  • Maintain Sign-In Sheets & Attendance Record
    Collect weekly sign-in sheets and record in database
    Replenish sign in sheets as needed

  • Coordination of Communication Among Volunteers
    Semi-weekly/monthly email to all teams re: schedule and lessons
    Help plan & coordinate Teacher Appreciation & training opportunities

  • Publication of RE Events Through Church Emails, including Newsletter
    Weekly blurb of welcome, general information
    Publicity of special events, beginning at least a month prior to event
    Occasional presentation of children’s story in Worship Service

  • Help Coordinate Special Events
    Assist with scheduling and preparation
    Publicity (see above)
    Recruit volunteers

  • Childcare Coordination
    Coordinate with Administrator to be sure RE events have childcare coverage
    *Possibly more later – must check with Board & Administrator

  • Maintain Bulletin Boards
    sing images/lessons from curriculum, student art, seasonal images

Rental Coordinator

Pathways is looking for folks interested in coordinating the rental of our church facilities to both charitable and for-profit organizations as well as individuals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For details, contact a member of the board. Individuals earn a 15% commission for each completed rental with the option to earn an additional 10% for being the individual who makes the building available and attends the event as the Pathways representative. All rental income goes toward our building fund. Administrative Assistant
Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff

Purpose:
The primary role of this position is to assist the leadership of this congregation by providing support for the members, Board, and staff.

  • Answers phone calls, opens and distributes mail, maintains church calendar, and acts as a
    hub for the coordination of all church communications.
  • Prepares and enters data into the church management software, thereby maintaining all official membership records and files of the congregation.
  • Collects and maintains information from visitor and pledge (time, talent, and treasure) forms.
  • Assists the Board in special projects involving research and data collection such as ministerial search or staff recruitment.
  • Maintains membership directory, job descriptions, meeting minutes, and provides information for a variety of congregational reports and activities.
  • Provides support to board and ministries in the conduct of their church duties including informing them of needed supplies or repairs and other pending issues.
  • Maintains, distributes and organizes facility space and supplies.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with UU principles and philosophy.
  • Experience with computers and software systems and demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills in this area as needed.
  • Excellent judgment and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving abilities and be a self-starter.
  • Good people skills including confidentiality, flexibility, reliability and patience.

Compensation:

$16.75 per hour for 25 - 30 hours per week, some of which may be performed remotely.
