First Jefferson is a small congregation, with approximately 110 members, looking for a half-time minister.
Job responsibilities:
- Design worship services and preach twice a month (24 services)
- Support Worship Arts Committee in the development of lay lead services for the remainder of Sundays (28 services)
- Supervise administrative staff and DRE
- Remaining hours to be determined by applicant’s background, strengths and interests, including but not limited to Pastoral Care, Social Justice, Growth and Outreach
Qualifications:
- Master of Divinity or BS/MS in related field
- Experience in a UU church setting in a Professional or Volunteer Position
- Strong communication skills
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation package begins at $40K and includes salary, housing allowance, professional expenses, health, dental and retirement plans, Life and Disability insurance. The compensation package also includes vacation and paid sick time, as well as study leave.

The Audio Visual Technician runs the sanctuary AV system, records and live streams worship Sunday mornings, uploads videos to YouTube, runs presentation software, and designs digital graphics or slides as needed. Must work at the church Sunday mornings between 9:30am and 12:30pm. The Audio Visual Technician is also responsible for setting up, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment as needed.
Candidate will be expected to work with existing sound and video systems, troubleshoot issues, and communicate deficiencies in the existing equipment. The candidate must be able to work with volunteers in the AV booth who are responsible for aiding with camera work and presenting the slideshow during the service.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
• Has experience mixing audio successfully in the live environment; familiarity with sound mixers such as Mackie or Yamaha a plus.
• Familiarity with live sound reinforcement including speaker placement, microphone placement, equalization, and feedback suppression.
• Usage of wireless microphones, frequency channels and overlaps, knowledge of microphone types, pickup patterns, and placement.
• Will be expected to adjust camera angle and zoom throughout service.
• Knowledge of live streaming to YouTube.
• Ability to lightly edit videos, apply sound normalization, and publish videos on YouTube.
• Able to work in team settings and take directions.
• Have good communication skills and ability to convey complicated technical issues succinctly.
• Ability to think quickly and react/troubleshoot properly in high stress situations.

Job Title: Nursery Caregivers

Summary:
Nursery Caregivers are responsible for the safety, care, and comfort of children ages 0-3 during Sunday
services and for children ages 0-14 for special events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide childcare for infants and children on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. by:
o observing safety procedures at all time
o overseeing free play on equipment and with toys, ensuring that this is done safely
o providing care and comforting children as needed
o providing bottles of milk brought from home as requested
o changing diapers
o providing information and reassurance to parents as needed
o help to ensure that the Nursery is clean and inviting
Other Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Providing childcare outside of Sunday mornings for special events held at the church or off site for: trainings,
annual events and meetings, interest or affiliation group events, and others as your schedule permits
Qualifications:
• Verifiable history of providing dependable and reliable care to infants and/or children
• Ability to interface with a diverse population of children, teens, and adults.
• Consent to and pass a criminal background check.
